Freija is a private 100-acre bird, wildlife and stargazing sanctuary in Kinghust Forest, Grey County, Ontario, Canada

Founded in 2016, Freija is locally-owned and operated by a Canadian adventure company specializing in personalized retreats and unique experiences with emphasis on science education and nature conservation.

Endless trails on varying terrain in the old-growth Kinghurst Forest offer plentiful opportunities for birdwatching, camping, canoeing on the ponds, exploring the old-growth maple and cedar forest or hosting special events. Designated as an Area of Natural and Scientific Interest (ANSI), Kinghurst Forest is a special place that offers a rare glimpse into Ontario’s natural past.

The Forest Loft is a fully-heated four-season space that acommodates up to four guests.

The Meadow Cabin is the most secluded stay in the forest. 

“Cedar” is the closest to the ponds and the easiest to access. Seasonal camping only.
